Night Six - Tuesday November 16, 2004

Scott McGrory-Matthew Gilmore continued their blitzkreig and beat the Slippens-Stam pair by eleven points as the other pairs lost three or more laps in the blistering final night action.

Up until the end of night four Slippens-Stam had looked like sure fire winners and their loss on the final night must have been a bitter pill to swallow for the 2003 victors. But the McGrory-Gilmore win was justice in a way as they won the 2002 event and were denied back to back wins last year by the Risi-Betschart duo who were relegated to fourth spot, and Matthew Gilmore now has one more win than his dad who won with Sigi Renz in 1974.

There is now a one week respite before battle is joined again a week from tonight in Ghent on November 23 and it is a certainty that Slippens-Stam will be out for revenge.

Night Five - Monday November 15, 2004

Whilst most pairs lost one or more laps on Night Five, a storming Scott McGrory-Matthew Gilmore pair earned a bonus lap and stole another on the field to join Slippens-Stam and Kappes-Beikirch on the Zero Lap, and in fact are now in second place as they lead Kappes-Beikirch by a slim margin of two points.

Last years winners, Risi-Betschart are only one lap back with a bonus lap only eight points ahead. The rest of the pairs are too far back to realistically challenge for victory and although Risi-Betschart will undoubtably join the three leaders on the Zero Lap, victory for them will depend upon them being able to steal a lap as a 50 points deficit is rather more than they will be able to expunge.

But whatever the outcome, the spectators will be guaranteed some nail biting action as the Munich Six Day goes into the final night tomorrow (Tuesday)

Night Two - Friday November 12, 2004

The second night in the Olympiahalle at the Munich Six Day Saw the Men sorted from the Boys.

Up to Eight Laps were lost by all of the Pairs not on the Zero Lap except Robert Slippens-Danny Stam and Bruno Risi-Kurt Betschart who are a single lap down before any bonus laps for the 100 point mark come into play. Robert Bartko-Franco Marvulli have done some damage limitation and are only two laps down.

But Five Laps now separate the leading five Pairs from what are fast becoming ''also rans''

Night One - Thursday November 11, 2004

Patrick Sercu, the organizer in Munich had to make some last minute changes to the original Pairs.

Guido Fulst, still suffering from his injuries in the Dortmund Six Day was unable to start, and Frank Vandenbroucke telephoned at the last minute to say that he would not be on the start line. He gave no reason, but His Mr. Bookmaker team manager, Hilaire Van der Schueren, told VRT (Flemish Television) that Frank had personal problems and had not trained sufficiently to start.

Sportdirector Sigi Renz, the Sports Director had to do some fast shuffling and the revamped start list saw Marvulli - Aeschbach split up with Marvulli partnering Bartko and Leif Lampater pairing with Alexander Aeschbach. Luke Roberts was paired up with up with Jimmi Madsen and a new Duo of Belgians Iljo Keisse and Wouter van Mechelen was formed.

The four leading Pairs quickly established their dominance and by half way through the nights racing Slippens - Stam and McGrory - Gilmore topped the scoreboard equal on points with Risi - Betschart and Kappes - Beikirch in the same lap.
