November 29 Trial Date set The trial of Belgian Mr. Bookmaker.com rider, Frank Vandenbroucke, slated to commence today has been postponed until November 29, 2004 at the request of VDB's lawyer, Luc Deleu. The affair stems from a raid carried out on February 27, the day before the Het Volk cycling classic race when a search of VDB's home in Lebbeke, Belgium, turned up doping products including EPO and Morphine. A conviction could result in a five year prison term and VDB is anxious to have the matter settled. "It is time to put an end to this business. The longer it continues, the less people understand both it and me, and this is destroying me," said Vandenbroucke today. The new trial date is set for the day after the Gent Six Day race which VDB is engaged to ride. (Source: L'Equipe)L'Equipe (French)

The Banner Ads will be gone.... The SixDay management have decided that 741.com is a reliable enough Web Hosting company and have purchased a Subscription which will allow you to view the site without the Banners that you are used to seeing. Since it is currently weekend, the banners might take a few days to disappear completely. Part of the rational for upgrading the site of course was that the banners were a nuisance. However, we at SixDay never thought they were too annoying else we would not have moved the site to 741.com The main reason we subscribed as opposed to continuing with the Free Hosting was that there is now sufficient interest in both the Six Day racing scene and in the News Service that Sixday publishes to warrant syndicating the site. Since syndication involves Hot Linking and since Hot Linking is not permitted to Free Accounts the solution was obvious. So the RSS Blog type newsfeed is just days away. It is being tested currently and so far the tests have indicated that there are no problems. So stay tuned and we will post the instructions so that you can access the SixDay news via your RSS Reader. And in closing, the SixDay staff would like to thank the increasingly greater numbers of regular readers for their loyalty. We hope to improve our services and providing an RSS feed was seen by SixDay management as a natural next step. (Source: SixDay Management)
