Wisconsin Companies Raise $20,000 For Bicycle Federation
Tue Nov 23 16:52:36 2004
Saris Cycling Group, Pacific Cycles, Planet Bike and Trek stepped Up Front
Saris Cycling Group, Pacific Cycles, Planet Bike and Trek raked in more than $20,000 for the Bicycle Federation
of Wisconsin last Monday at a fundraiser at held at Saris' Madison plant. More than 300 people attended.
Attendees were able to take self-guided tours of the Saris facility while browsing a silent auction of items
from the bike industry and local companies. Pacific Cycles provided food and drink, a live band entertained
the crowd and professional cyclist Floyd Landis answered questions and signed autographs. Landis also drew
the name of the night's raffle grand prize winner who scored a Trek Travel trip for two.
"Our goal was to raise $10,000 for the Bicycle Federation of Wisconsin to help them lobby for the voice of
the cyclist in Wisconsin," said Chris Fortune, Saris Cycling Group's president. "It truly speaks to the
support of cycling in Wisconsin that we were able to double our expectations."
